The Catalan metropolis Barcelona is member of the Premium league of European towns and combines history and tradition with the modern one in harmonious way. The 2000-year history led the town to a cultural and economic centre of the complete Mediterranean; its world-wide fame reached Barcelona by the organization of the Olympic Games in 1992.

Friendship concerts in Barcelona and at the Costa Brava bring together a guest choir with 2-3 foreign choirs and arrange international contacts and atmosphere for all participants. During the final evening, all participating choirs present themselves in a concert hall in Girona with one song of their choice. This is followed by a common dinner with music and songs in the atmosphere of the Catalan hospitality and food - an unforgettable frame and highlight of the Cantate Barcelona.

The Pueblo Espanol (Spanish village) was built in Barcelona in the context of the world exhibition in 1929 and represents the variety of the different peoples and cultures of Spain. It is one of the main attractions, visited daily by thousands Spanish and tourists. At the main place, there is an open-air stage where choirs have here the possibility to introduce their songs to an international audience.

Sightseeing in Barcelona, at the Costa Brava and in Girona are offered by late summery temperatures. Hotels for the accommodation are offered alternatively in Barcelona or in more economical hotels at the Costa Brava, a short coach trip far away from Barcelona. The Cantate Barcelona can be arranged by flight or as a coach tour. With an extension of one night, the choirs can sing during a mass in Barcelona or at the Costa Brava.
