Cantate Croatia

Istria was and is again one of the most popular vacation regions at the Mediterranean Sea. History, culture and sun are combined here in an excellent way. One of the oldest cities and well known also outside the country: This is Pula with the famous Romanian Amphitheatre, one of the greatest at its time.

Pula is a wonderful frame for a choir exchange, when the hot temper of the Balkans jumps over to the participants! Enjoy at the most beautiful time of the year with a boat trip and many other tours, or with extensions in Trieste or Venice.

During Friendship Concerts in churches or concert halls meet choirs from several countries. Full of atmosphere are the old churches, simple looking from outside, and with a splendid interior. They are the place for church services and church concerts at Sunday morning.

The musically highlight is the common concert of all participating choirs in the centre of Pula. The magnificent concert hall from the imperial-royal period is the right frame for such an event and brings impressions from the Croatian cultural history to the choirs.

	The social highlight is the Farewell-Dinner at the last evening in one of the hotels directly beside the sea. A large cold and warm buffet, included drinks (beer, wine and non-alco) and a music band bring within a short time a buoyant spirit to all choirs. This farewell dinner is the best place to communicate with many singers from other countries. It is easy to come to Istria: By flight to the airports of Pula or Trieste or – what an experience – by flight to Venice and by speedboat to Rovinj! You can combine this festival with a stay in Venice or Trieste or you can visit some other famous towns of Croatia like Zadar and Dubrovnik. Choirs from Overseas can combine the Cantate Croatia with the Cantate Adriatica!

		By coach: Coming by own coach to Barcelona, the coach must be available for all transfers of the choir. By flight: There are offered many flights to Trieste, Zadar, Pula or Venice. From Venice there is a fast ferry to Istria. Coming by flight, music&friends will organize all necessary ground transport. Just check the following links for flight information: germanwings, Ryanair and easyjet. Extensions: With an extension, music&friends can offer a church service on Sunday and e.g. further guided tours and boat trips in Istria. Ask for the conditions to extend your stay in Istria or Venice or further places in Northern Italy or Austria.

„It’s worth for a long way"; this idiom meets our experiences at our tour to the choir festival "Cantate Croatia 2011" completely. An organization by "music& friends" in the persons of Igor and Goga Petrovic and Wolfgang Buchmann, which do not leave anything remaining. The hotel "Histria" with its delightful location on the peninsula Verudella, where we felt very well and especially our local tour guides Maslinka and Vukica, who brought us many impressions about country and people during these days in Pula and Rovinj. In addition, the successfully concerts and the meetings with the other choirs from Austria, Italy, France, Croatia and Slovenia and the choice of the concert places did help to get over the language barrier by singing. Choir exchanges are a musical challenge and motivation for the future; they promote our choir community and bring cross-border friendship to like-minded singer. The participation at the festival Cantate Croatia was once again an excellent example for the fact, that even long each ways are worth to participate (we had to drive 1300 kilometres...) We thank music & friends for the – as usual - perfect organization and all new singing friends, who made the stay in Pula an unforgettable experience! 		We are back from Croatia and everything has been perfect. It has been a great tour and everything has been organized very well. We are pleased and happy!
