PREMIERE 2009 + PREMIERE 2009 + PREMIERE 2009

South Carolina, with all typical attributes of the Southern States, is situated at the east coast between Washington and Florida. Charleston, directly located at the Atlantic Sea, is one of the oldest European settlements in America, founded in 1670 and named after the English King Charles II. In former times an important place for the slave trade, the town has been nearly destroyed in 1886 with an earthquake. Today Charleston is a singular architecture jewel with many buildings from the 19th century. The Secession War started at the Fort Surnter in Charleston on April 12, 1861.

The musical highlights are concerts of the choirs in senior homes or other social institutions, in one of the historical churches of Charleston and in the famous Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens, one of the most important attractions of the region, in which the typical life of the Southern States reflects itself. Beside the opening and the final meeting remain sufficient time for guided tours and a boat trip on the Atlantic Sea. The central situation of South Carolina makes it easy to plan extensions in Washington, DC, Atlanta in Georgia or in Florida.
